Climbing, mountain biking or hiking yoga holidays
We have designed this exciting yoga holiday for the mountain adventurist in you. Whether you are into climbing in the great outdoors, the exhilaration of down hill mountain biking, or if you prefer hiking over mountain passes, we have something for all. If you are feeling more adventurous, try out paragliding! With the combination of yoga to help support your activity of choice and the luxurious accommodation and sunshine filled days you will feel like you have been away for weeks.
The French Alps are the perfect place to invigorate the body & soul, with so many sports to choose from. The problem is going to be not how you are going to fill your time, but how you are going to fit it all in! And for those who want to be more tranquil, it goes without saying that the mountains are the ideal place to retreat and immerse yourself in your yoga practice. An Alpine yoga holiday adventure with us is guaranteed to leave your body recharged and your soul lifted.
La Ferme
Our Alpine yoga holiday is set in La Rosiere, in the Haute Tarantaise region of the French Alps. It is located 20 minutes from Bourg-st-Maurice, where the snow train arrives in winter and along the same valley as Les Arcs, Val D’Isere and Tignes. The venue is a beautifully converted farmhouse, ‘La Ferme.’ Dating back to 1877, it is a traditional farm house that has been renovated to it’s now luxurious state. Made up of two separate but adjacent houses, it offers plenty of space to dine, sleep, relax and practice yoga. With a selection of room sizes & styles, we are able to offer a large range of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets.
It is located at the end of a winding road, past a couple of working farms, well off the beaten track. There are uninterrupted views of the mountains and no neighbours to the front or to the right of La Ferme, making it the ideal location for a mountain retreat. You will have to see it, to believe just how stunning it is, but we assure you that your stay here, will be an adventure to remember.
A Typical Day at La Ferme
Begin your day the yogi way: Morning yoga class in the mountains – will be 1 1/2 hours– to wake up that cold stiff body and get you ready for the day. The morning sessions are a more dynamic practice to help us stretch and lengthen and warm and strengthen the body in preparation for a day of adventure! Special focus is on the legs, to build stamina for those hill walks or mountain biking.
Wind down the yogi way: The evening class is gentle yoga to stretch out and relax abused muscles and joints. The session will vary and we will include pranayama & meditation to really let go and enter a state of deep relaxation. After yoga perhaps book a massage to really pamper yourself, relax in the hot tub or enjoy a glass of wine before dinner under the stars.
