Yoga and hiking holidays
We have designed this exciting adventure yoga holiday for the mountain adventurist in you. Whether you love the exhilaration of downhill mountain-biking, or prefer hiking over mountain passes, or maybe even paragliding or white water rafting, we have something for everyone. With the combination of yoga to help support the activity of your choice, luxurious accommodation to relax in and sunshine to fill your days you will feel life just couldn’t get any better.
Yoga and hiking holiday outline
Begin your day the yogi way with a morning yoga class to warm you up ready for the day ahead. Then there’s a delicious healthy brunch, followed by your own time to do whichever activity you desire, from hiking or biking across snow-peaked mountains, wild swimming in glacial lakes or in an Olympic sized outdoor pool, or white water rafting. If you just prefer to relax there are holistic treatments and massages to choose from at the chalet. Early evening, wind down with another yoga and meditation class, followed by a fabulous veggie feast. After dinner chill out in the hot tub underneath the stars then snuggle down for a well deserved and blissful sleep.
The morning sessions are a more dynamic practice to help us stretch, lengthen and warm the body in preparation for a day of adventure! Special focus is on the legs in order to build stamina for those hill-walks. The evening class is gentle yoga to stretch out and relax sore muscles and joints. The session will vary and we will include pranayama & meditation to help you to really let go and enter a state of deep relaxation.
The classes are suitable for all abilities, from beginners to intermediate and advanced levels. Everyone is welcome. We have a range of very experienced teachers who are the best of the best and are well practiced at adapting the class for everyone’s level. Whether it be Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Ashtanga, Sivananda, Yin or others, all classes cover pranayama, asanas and meditation to help increase oxygen flow, balance, clarity and to promote a peaceful mind.
Enjoy delicious, healthy vegetarian food which is an integral part of our AlpineYogi retreats. You will need to feel looked after and nourished with all the exercise and mountain air! We bring our own AdventureYogi chef to dazzle you with flavours and creativity. The food is fresh, local and seasonal. Included is a delicious brunch with granola, eggs, juices and fruit, and a gourmet vegetarian evening feast and organic wine 6 nights (Wednesday is chef’s night off!) Our guests are always incredibly impressed with quality of our food and often comment on how much healthier they feel. Food on our retreats is as important as our yoga.
Our venues are luxurious mountain chalets with breathtaking views in peaceful locations. There are all the comforts you will need to relax with the comfiest of beds, crisp linen sheets, huge soft sofas, log fires and above all a welcoming atmosphere.
There are plenty of activities on offer, from a gentle stroll to an organised hike, mountain biking to parapenting or white water rafting.
