Surfing and yoga Morocco

Morocco, Morocco
11 - 18th August 2018 (Saturday - Saturday, 7 nights)

After two fantastic weeks last year, we cannot wait to go back to Morocco for another surf and yoga holiday. Located in Taghazout, this area has become a surf mecca. Join us at Banana Point along the Atlantic coast for a week of yoga, surf and sun.

You can choose what surf packages you would like to go for whether it’s one day, 3 days or the whole week.

It’s not all about the surf, there are lots of other activities to enjoy such as horse riding on the beach, relax at the Hammam, visit the souks in Agadir or go for a swim at the local swimming hole in the jungle or try sand surfing!  There is so much on offer, but if you just want to relax stay by the pool or on the beach or wander around the shops and relax in the local cafes a stone’s throw from your accommodation. Remember this is your holiday so do what you need to get the most from it for you!

Things to do

A day at the beach:
If you want to visit beaches which are not in walking distance then please ask us to organise transport for you. There are lots of beaches to visit and we can get a taxi for one person or a vehicle and driver for the day if there are a few of you.

Banana Beach café:
It’s the closest café/restaurant to Villa Mandala and in our opinion it’s the best, not least because they are one of the few places to serve beer and wine! The fish is good, the setting is great and the vibe is relaxed. Take a sun lounger before or after eating and take it easy. It’s a short walk across the beach to Banana Point. Closes around 4:00pm

Other local cafés and restaurants:
Chez Brahim at Devil’s Rock – walking distance, good sea food.
Croco Beach – a wide variety of good food looking over Croco beach, popular with locals at the weekends.
L’Auberge Taghazout – Surf Maroc’s own Taghazout restaurant open to the public day and night for good food and an easygoing atmosphere.
Les Quartiers d’été – Agrhoud, 5km after Taghazout, a new favourite of ours. Excellent French cuisine and reasonably priced, they don’t serve alcohol but you can bring a bottle.
Tanit – 5 minutes walk from Villa Mandala in Banana Village, traditional Moroccan food.

A day in Agadir:
A trip to this area would not be complete without a visit to the Agadir Souq (main market), open every day except Monday, perfect for gift shopping. Agadir beach is a huge sandy bay, great for swimming, walking, sunbathing and lots of touristy activities, restaurants cafés etc.

Optional activities

Surf Packages:
Surf lessons (An optional extra and cost £42 for a day, £120 for 3 days or £195 for 7 days)

 A Day Trip to Essaouira:
We recommend you experience this beautiful town as a mid week rest & change of scene. It is great for shopping with lots to choose from and a more chilled vibe than Marrakech. The fresh fish at the port is a great idea for lunch and the beach is big, beautiful and excellent for windsurfing and kitesurfing. You can easily spend the day there just taking it all in and soaking up the atmosphere. Please let us know the day before if you’d like to go. Transport (vehicle + driver) all day. 3 – 4 can share a taxi. Minibus takes up to 7, 1100dh/£90 for 4, 1250/£100 for 5, 1500/£120 for 6, 1650/£130 for 7 (2hrs 15 mins north, along the coastal road).
A Day trip to Taroudant:
Taroudant is a classic Moroccan walled town (Medina) with 2 Souqs within its walls selling lots of rugs, jewellery and artisanal products. Minibus 1300dhs/£103 up to 7 people (1hr 30mins inland).
Horse riding at Ranch Reha Stables, Aouria:
If you’re a fairly experienced and confident rider you can go for a gallop along the beach. If not more sedate and peaceful rides/hacks through the hills & on the beach are offered. The horses are well looked after and Ranch Reha have horses to suit all abilities. The guides are great too. 150dh/£11/hour, 250dh/£20/2 hrs, 350dh/£30/half day, 600dh/£50/1 day.
Quad biking & Buggy riding:
Based at Croco beach this is great fun and can be a good way to explore off the beaten track, cruising up the beautiful hills or along the long sandy beaches.
Jet skis:
A popular beach activity amongst the locals, jet ski hire is available at several nearby beaches, please ask your hosts for booking and info.
They are on almost every beach but if you like we can get them to pick you up from the front door! Just ask your hosts.
