About the yoga

Morning Class
Our morning classes are held in the yoga studio of the chalet. Awaken your body, paying special attention to warming those muscles, stretching out the legs and building stamina for your day exploring the breathtaking environment.
Evening Class
After your full day hiking, white water rafting or parapenting, return to the Auberge to unwind and relax tired bodies with a restorative evening yoga class. This gentle session will vary each evening and include pranayama and meditation to help mind and body really let go and allow you to enter a state of deep relaxation.
Sunrise Yoga
This is one of the highlights of the trip! Wake before dawn and bask in a silent group hike in darkness through mountains that feel your own, with no inhabitants apart from you and the marmots. Roll out your mats at one of the most overwhelming areas of beauty in Europe, and enjoy a full flow class, feeling the heat of the sun warming your body as the sun rises behind the mountain. A true once in a lifetime experience that’s not to be missed.

Beautiful France

We run skiing and yoga holidays in the winter and hiking with activities and yoga holidays in the summer in this beautiful region of the Tarantaise valley. Based in La Rosiere, a quaint French ski resort there is a lot of choice around us for a winter or summer yoga holiday but we are situated in an area of tranquility and calm.

In winter, join us at our superbly located modern yet cosy chalet only 8 minutes walk from the main ski lifts of La Rosiere.

La Rosière is a small but rapidly growing ski resort in the Haute Tarentaise valley. Originally started by the villagers themselves in 1961, La Rosière retains much of it’s friendly village feel. The setting is unparalleled with incredible, panoramic views from all over the village. The village is split into two – La Rosière centre and Les Eucherts – both areas have bars, restaurants and shops as well as a ‘Front de Neige’ for ski school meeting points and access to the ski area. The two parts of town are linked by a short path through the forest – known locally as ‘Narnia’ thanks to it’s snow laden trees and pretty lamp posts – as well as a regular free shuttle bus.

In summer, this area of the French Alps turns into an adventure playground not for the faint hearted! Staying in our gorgeous chalet with instant access to the ski lifts so that you can get up into higher climbs much quicker, or choose to walk from the bottom, there is plenty of choice each day of what adventure you would like to experience. Enjoy your guided hike and then relax in the hot tub and sauna followed by evening yoga.

All our hikes will be in the La Rosiere area as well as sunrise yoga. Try hiring an electric bike and go up to the pass and over to Italy, or try out the spa in Italy. All these things and more can be arranged for you.

If you’ve not visited the French Alps in the summer time, you’re in for a treat. As the winter snow melts away in the spring, the mountains take on their summer mantle of bright green grass and colourful alpine flowers. The views are equally as spectacular in the summer as they are in the winter.

After a long walk reward yourself with a swim to cool off in a refreshing glacial lake. There are so many hikes to choose from, at blue, red or black levels. Enjoy views of Mont Blanc in the distance. If you feel like a day off from walking why not try paragliding, hiring electric bikes, going to the spa in Italy wander around La Rosiere and enjoy a leisurely lunch in the sunshine with a good book.
