Autumn is such a beautiful time to experience a hiking and yoga retreat in the Lake District. The colours are turning from a vibrant green to hues of red, orange and soft browns. It is one of our favourite times of the year to visit as the crowds are gone and it takes on a slower pace of life. This year is also in half term so for all you teachers this one is also for you!
Start the day in our beautful yoga shala with views out to the local hills, a dynamic pracice to warm and bring energy into the body and mind. let go of the tensions of autumn and the changes of the seasons.
With our qualified and very experienced mountain guide Mark on hand to lead the day hike on the Friday, and your yoga teacher Gaby Maas to lead a more gentle yet equally as stunning walk to Tarn Howes directly from our retreat centre, immerse yourself in nature and feel the benefits of this, being away from the frenetic and urban landscape of your day to day living. Take a packed lunch and just sit and watch the world go by, or enjoy a bit of forest bathing and meditation.
After a days excursions, unwind with evening yin and restoratve yoga and yoga nidra followed by a vegan and vegetarian feast.

After eleven years of studying and practising yoga Gaby began teaching small classes in Chile. Later she arrived in the UK, and began teaching in earnest in 2002, largely in the Lake District and Cumbria. Since then she has qualified as a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance UK, and runs her own Yin yoga teacher tarning courses.
Our classes for our yoga retreat in the Lake District are really special, with natural light coming in to the purpose built, high ceiling yoga shala overlooking the mountains.
Each yoga class is designed in response to the energetic needs of the group, and this is reflected in the overall pace and rhythm of your yoga retreat. We ensure that the level and dynamics of the yoga classes are in harmony with the participants, the time of the day and the activities enjoyed that day.

This autumn hiking yoga retreat Lake District is suitable for those who love more dramatic countryside experience, love hiking or being active. If you have never been hiking before that's ok, but just bring suitable clothing and be prepared to be active! Men and women are welcome as well as solo travellers, couples, and friends.

From Beatrix Potter to Lake Windermere, sailing on the Lakes or hiking and climbing in the fells or just wandering around Ambleside there is something for everyone.
Your hiking yoga retreat starts at 4pm on the Thursday with the first yoga class at 6pm and finishes at 12pm on Sunday.

Morning yoga and meditation class to warm up the body ready for the hike

Brunch of healthy energy boosting breakfast foods, porridge

Friday – get ready for a hike. Saturday – massage, free time at the venue or try another activity

Friday guided hike with qualified mountain guides. Enjoy a packed lunch. Be ready for 12pm for departure at 12.15pm. Saturday enjoy a choice of optional activities; biking, climbing, horse riding, walking, or simply relax and enjoy a treatment
