Enjoy an adventurous and refreshing activity-packed yoga retreat in this most awe-inspiring landscape with us. We love the Lake District – it has stunning landscape and so much to see and do.  With 2 x 2 hour yoga classes a day to completely unwind and let go, these retreats offer the perfect combination of active and relaxation.

On the Saturday you will enjoy a guided hike with qualified mountain guides taking us to some of the most breath-taking spots in the Lakes.

Sunday can either be a day of rest to make the most of the gorgeous house and grounds that you are staying and have a treatment; or be active again and try horse riding, walk to Tarn Howes or visit Lake Windermere. It’s your retreat so take some well deserved time out for you.


8am-10am: Morning yoga and meditation class.

10am-11am: Brunch of healthy energy boosting breakfast foods and porridge.

12pm-5pm: Saturday guided hike with qualified mountain guides. Enjoy a packed lunch. Be ready for 12pm for departure at 12.15pm.

Sunday enjoy a choice of optional activities: Walk to Tarn Howes Lakes, go to Lake Windermere or Ambleside or relax and enjoy a treatment.

6pm-8pm: Evening yoga, meditation and yoga nidra class.

8pm: Delicious vegetarian feast.


There are 13 luxury ensuite bedrooms in the main house, with a choice of standard, superior and suites which are freshly decorated in a traditional/contemporary style. Each room has a bath or walk in shower and crisp linen

The public rooms of the house are there for you to relax in. There’s always a quiet corner to stretch out in, and in the colder months a wood burning stove will keep you toasty warm. The house invites you to borrow their selection of books.

How to get there

By Car

The nearest town to the retreat is Hawkshead in Cumbria which is about a 5 hour drive from London.

By train

Rail: The nearest station is Windermere. It’s about 9 miles from the retreat. The journey from London is about 4 hours. We have recommended train times below. Please book these trains/or similar times if coming from a different direction, so that we can organise a taxi share for you and and save you some money. If trains are booked in advance the fares start at £47 return.

Enjoying healthy and flavoursome vegetarian food is an integral part of our active yoga retreats. The food is provided by the experts at the B&B, who also have a few vegetarian restaurants in the Lake District. Breakfasts are a hit, with a huge choice of yoghurts, toasted nuts and seeds, jams, soaked dried fruits, cereals, eggs, toast, tea and coffee. Enjoy a packed healthy packed lunch with their home baked breads and for supper enjoy flavours inspired from their vegetarian restaurant in Ambleside. It will be hearty, warming and healthy after an active day of hiking to restore your energy and fill your tummy. There are alternative milks and we can also support any dietary needs – just let us know.

Things to do

We are in a hot spot for activities! There’s:

Walking – From the retreat you can walk to Tarn Howes. They are lakes with forest surrounding and waterfalls. It is a very popular picturesque place to visit and walking takes 20 minutes to get there and you can spend as long as you like there.

Hiking, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, horse riding, climbing we can arrange for you. Lots of people enjoy horse riding.

It is nice to visit Lake Windermere and take the boat across or visit Ambleside – however you will need a car. If you have come by train then we can arrange a taxi or talk with your fellow yogis and see if you can arrange to all go together in car share.


Massage / Holistic Treatments

Our own highly experienced therapists are on hand to soothe away your aches and pains. Choose from an array of wonderful different massages, facials, reiki, depending on your retreat and therapists available.
