We all need help occasionally to find our inner glow. With yoga and holistic health becoming more mainstream in recent years, it is slowly becoming more acceptable to outwardly think about our mental health as well as physical health. On this happiness and yoga retreat we create the space for you to do just that. Yoga teacher and coach Louise Gillespie-Smith will lead you on a happiness journey, asking questions and weaving happiness themes into her classes in a gentle and supportive way to help you feel excited about opening up to the answers to:
“What makes me happy?”
“Am I happy?”
“What does true happiness mean to me?”
Louise has been a coach and NLP practitioner for 8 years helping people to create a life they love. She finds the embodied practice of yoga helps to calm the mind and deeply connect with what is true in your heart.
The combination of yoga, silent country walks, healthy satisfying food, journaling exercises and a happiness workshop will leave you feeling uplifted and inspired.
7.30am: Hot lemon and ginger tea and protein snacks before morning yoga.
8am: Silent walk.
8:30am – 10:30am: Morning yoga and meditation class with happiness theme.
10.30am: Brunch of porridge, eggs and other wholesome healthy treats.
11:30am – 1pm: Massage and free time to read, explore and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
1pm – 3pm: Saturday Happiness Workshop with Louise. Sunday relax and enjoy a treatment
3pm: Healthy afternoon lunch.
3:30pm – 5:30pm: More treatments to pamper yourself or free time.
5:30pm – 7:30pm: Evening yoga and meditation class.
7:30pm: Delicious vegetarian feast.
Saturday night happiness story telling, an optional extra, after dinner.
Start and finish times of the retreat
The yoga retreat starts from 5pm on Friday, with the first yoga class starting at 6pm. The yoga retreat finishes at 3pm on Sunday, after a light lunch to send you on your way.
Crow cottage has 2 twin rooms, one with en-suite and shower and the other with a separate bathroom with bath. Ewe cottage has 1 twin with it’s own bathroom and a double with en-suite and shower. They both have a spacious living room and kitchen.
The Calf Shed cottage has 2 twin or double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a shower and bath.
How to get there
From London get onto the M25 and then exit onto the A21. It is then about 30 minutes drive from the M25. Once you have booked your place with us we will give you the exact address and postcode.
There are trains that run every hour from London Charing Cross, Cannon Street & Waterloo East and they take 1 hr and 10 minutes.

The food will be provided by one of our in-house AdventureYogi retreat chefs. All food is vegetarian or vegan which will be balanced, seasonal and local. The food will also follow the happiness theme. The chef will have considered which foods have the right vitamins, minerals and amino acids that help boost your happiness levels. They will let you know at each meal time so take notes!
Things to do
As well as the yoga sessions during the retreat, you’ll be exploring happiness through journaling exercises that have been designed to lift your mood and increase happiness levels. On Saturday afternoon Louise will run a 2-hour workshop which will include creating your own happiness vision board, a powerful tool you can take home to use daily to keep what makes you smile in mind.
Happiness story telling
After dinner on Saturday evening there will be optional happiness story telling by the fire where we’ll share our favourite moments. A lovely opportunity to connect with each other and go to bed with a warm glow.

Massage / holistic treatments
Our own highly experienced therapists are on hand to soothe away your aches and pains. Choose from an array of wonderful different massages, facials and Reiki depending on your retreat and therapists available. Prices: £38 for 30 minutes and £65 for 1 hour.

The Happiness retreat has been designed by life coach and yoga teacher Louise Gillespie-Smith to help you connect with your inner smile. Louise has been a coach and NLP practitioner for 8 years helping people to create a life they love. She finds the embodied practice of yoga helps to calm the mind and deeply connect with what is true in your heart.
Louise will teach an energising Vinyasa flow class in the morning which is an alignment between movement and breath, turning classic Hatha asanas into a beautiful heart centred flow. It is a perfect combination to increase flexibility and strength whilst leaving you feeling uplifted yet relaxed by the end of each class. In the evening you’ll experience slow meditative Yin Yoga. Whereas Vinyasa flow is a yang, energetic, practice that gets into the muscles, Yin focuses on the joints by holding poses for 3-5 mins.
A combination of yin and yang will help to bring your body and mind into balance. Louise’s teaching style is suitable for all levels and she will weave in the theme of happiness throughout the sessions.
