Overview

We have been running our wellbeing and yoga retreats at our Norfolk venue since 2009 and have seen the venue grow and flourish as we have. We keep going back because our guests love the retreat space. Being surrounded by fields buried deep in the countryside you really feel like you have stepped away from the day to day. The silent walk in the morning giving you a chance to wake up slowly in nature is a beautiful way to energise for the day ahead. Our collective silence is so peaceful that deer don’t even notice and carry on as usual. With 2 x 2 hours of yoga a day allow yourself the space to process what comes up. An invigorating walk in the afternoon to blow away the cobwebs and therapeutic massage to soothe aching muscles, feel like you are getting an emotional and physical MOT.

Allow this wellbeing and yoga retreat to permeate your inner being, allow yourself to switch off, unwind, and let go. Take these 2 nights as an opportunity to nourish yourself inside and out. It’s all it takes. You will have reset your inner battery and will return to work glowing and your colleagues asking you what you did over the weekend!

Itinerary

Typical day

8am-8.25am – Silent walk in tranquil surrounding countryside.

8:40am-10:40am – Morning yoga and meditation class.

10.40am – Healthy nutritious veggie brunch.

11:30am-1:30pm – Massage & free time: read, explore, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

1:45pm-2.45pm – Guided country walk.

3.00pm – Healthy light lunch.

3:30pm-5:30pm – More treatments to pamper yourself or free time.

5:30pm–7:30pm – Evening yoga and meditation class.

7:45pm – Delicious vegetarian feast.

The yoga retreat starts from 4pm on the Friday, with the first yoga class starting at 6pm. For 2 night yoga retreats, we finish at 3pm on the Sunday, after a light lunch and closing ceremony to send you on your way. For 3 nights yoga retreats we finish at 12pm on the Monday after the usual morning schedule until after breakfast.

Accommodation

Courtyard Rooms

These luxury en-suite rooms combine a rustic charm with funky modern twists. Nestled in courtyard formation around the Barn which is the yoga, dining and chill out space. The main barn has under floor heating throughout, wood burners and big cosy sofas in a living space to relax into.

Some of the bedrooms have special clay plaster with extracts of mica to create a sparkling effect all over the wall and a healthy breathability to the room. Others have the original brick and lime walls. Reclaimed wood and original farm doors have been used along side the original timber beams to add splashes of colour and authenticity to the rooms. Each bedroom has original artworks by renowned artist Oliver Barnett, giving each room a unique interpretation of a natural scene creating a perfect harmonious colour balance with the handmade curtains and cushions. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms have their own under floor heating. They also have super comfortable, extra thick sprung mattresses and high quality cotton linen.

Food

We believe that our retreats should be nurturing in every way. So our Vitality Chefs will create tasty, healthy, vegetarian meals for you from local, seasonal produce. All of our food is gently detoxing and we cater to various dietary preferences. Our guests are always impressed by our creative, flavoursome dishes — that’s because the food is just as important to us as the yoga.

Massage / Holistic Treatments

Our own highly experienced therapists are on hand to soothe away your aches and pains. Choose from an array of wonderful different massages, facials, reiki, reflexology and acupuncture depending on your retreat and therapists available. All treatments are extra £38 half hour and £65 for 1 hour.

Things to do

The main focus on our Well-being retreats are to relax, switch off and slow down and get away from the everyday. We offer an energising afternoon walk to Castle Acre – an old fort. If you are feeling adventurous we are 30 minutes drive from Holkham beach which is a famous long sweeping beach in Norfolk worth a day trip. We can help arrange car share and give directions.

How to get there

By Car

We are situated in Norfolk to the east of Kings Lynn. The nearest town is Swaffham, to the south. If you are driving, we send out travel information in the welcome pack.

By train

The train station is Downham Market, 30 minutes from the venue. We offer a complimentary service to arrange taxi share if you catch the recommended train times.

Swaffham

Escape to the rolling landscape of North Norfolk for time out from the day to day and be inspired by the eco education centre that is our Norfolk yoga retreat. Originally a family home, the entire property has been converted into an eco education centre, to help re-invigorate the local area with jobs, a sense of community and locality and thus a new heart centre.
