After eleven years of studying and practising yoga Gaby began teaching small classes in Chile. Later she arrived in the UK, and began teaching in earnest in 2002 largely in the Lake District, Cumbria. Since then she has qualified as a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance UK, and currently is the owner and director of Continuum Yoga Studio in Windermere.
In the course of my development she has studied (and continue to do so) directly with some of the world’s leading Iyengar Yoga Teachers and has received a teaching certification from Arun H.S. (direct disciple of B.K.S. Iyengar), complementing these studies with Vinyasa flow and Yin Yoga teacher training and certification from Shiva Rea and Paul Grilley respectively. She is a certified Meditation Teacher with Iuna Meditation and also a student of Ayurveda, Thai massage and Astrology.
Her style of teaching encourages people of all ages and abilities to explore their personal full range of movement between mindful Yin practice and beautiful, flowing Yang sequences.
During a retreat with Gaby you will immerse yourself into a blissful state of connection with yourself and nature. The practices we explore often release happiness, and a sense of peace and fulfilment, which allow you to fully enjoy the beauty of your surroundings and the company of others.
You will leave the retreat with a deeper understanding of your own body and its unique anatomy, which allows you to explore your full range of movement safely and effectively. She also teaches pranayama and chakra meditation. Where necessary she also uses assisted Yin yoga practices and partner work.
Gaby shapes each yoga class in response to the energetic needs of the group, and this is reflected in the overall pace and rhythm of the retreat. Gaby ensures that the tone and dynamic of the classes are in harmony with the participants, the time of the day, and the temperature.
Gaby teaches students of all levels of experience from novices through to advanced practitioners. Those that would most benefit are those who wish to experience the deeper effects of yoga, and those that wish to explore a grounded practice based on a functional approach.
