Heather is a Zen Buddhist whose yoga journey began with a spiritual quest. It lead to the zazen meditation of Zen Buddhism, while living and travelling in Spain and Japan. Her passion for yoga has been, and continues to be, nourished by inspiring teachers, yogis who lead by example – yoga is a practice for life!
Her first love of Ashtanga yoga has been mellowed and enriched by Hatha and vinyasa flow styles, rooted in mindfulness and a focus on the breath and Pranayama. She is trained and certified by the British Wheel of Yoga, the largest membership organisation in the UK. She also teaches the gold standard Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course, trained by Bangor University, a recognised centre of excellence.
She has taught yoga at two European Taiko Conferences, at summer schools, festivals, and to students in Japan.
Heather is an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, group facilitator and state registered music therapist. She is a musician and founder member of Music and the Muse – Well being Workshops Wales. There are many ways to healing and she skillfully encourages students to develop their unique potential. “Breathe deep, fly high!”
Yoga practice has changed her life, and her body, and teaching is her way of sharing this gift. Her classes are popular and inclusive, suitable for those new to yoga while offering advanced options for more experienced practitioners. Yin and Yang yoga workshops are a seasonal treat and guidance is offered in her studio in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.
You will leave her sessions enlivened and refreshed.
